As a Retired Teacher, I am not surprised by this in today's World of Education

NY College Summons Student To A Meeting For Holding Unloaded Guns In Off-Campus Video

Anand Venigalla
Anand Venigalla

BROOKVILLE, N.Y, – -(AmmoLand.com)- He held a gun. Then his college held a meeting.
In another shot to individual rights on college campuses, administrators at Long Island University Post called a student to a mandatory meeting after he posted photos and videos to Facebook showing him legally holding unloaded firearms at an off-campus event hosted by Cabela’s, the popular outdoor sporting goods chain.
The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education today is calling on LIU to acknowledge that mandatory administrative meetings about non-threatening social media posts chill individual rights.

“By calling in a student for a mandatory meeting about photos of his participation in a recreational gun event, Long Island University has sent a message to its entire student body: Watch what you say,” said FIRE Senior Program Officer Sarah McLaughlin. “Universities that promise to protect free speech should not hold mandatory meetings for students who engage in it.”

TAKE ACTION: TELL LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY TO RESPECT STUDENT EXPRESSION
According to LIU, another student complained that junior Anand Venigalla “might have violent intentions,” seemingly due to his participation in the Cabela’s event. LIU’s director of student engagement contacted Venigalla on Aug. 7, saying it was “imperative” they meet as soon as possible. The administrator later told FIRE that the meeting was not an investigation, but warned Venigalla that it was mandatory.
FIRE first wrote to LIU on Aug. 31 to express its concerns about the school’s violation of its commitment to free expression, pointing out that “students cannot be summoned for questioning every time they post a photo of themselves engaging in recreational firearm use.”
During Venigalla’s meeting with LIU, the director also brought up an essay he wrote for a class on war, terrorism, and justice in November 2017. Venigalla mentioned in the essay that political violence against authorities, but not civilians, can be justified in certain situations, citing the Boston Tea Party as an example. It is not clear how the administration obtained the essay. The director also questioned Venigalla about a Facebook comment expressing disappointment over losing an election for a student government position, in which Venigalla said the Greek life system wields too much political power on campus. For LIU administrators, apparently three examples of constitutionally-protected speech somehow warrant a mandatory meeting with administrators.

“Free expression matters because it is through the unrestricted expression of ideas that we learn and grow in wisdom,” Venigalla said.

LIU, apparently realizing that their case against Venigalla was meritless, declined to investigate further. However, campus inquiries like this chill expression. Though LIU is private and not bound by the First Amendment, it is legally and morally bound to honor the promises it makes to students.
TAKE ACTION: TELL LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY TO RESPECT STUDENT EXPRESSION

California & one of its vast number of problems

Hundreds serving time for murder could get sprung under new California law

Updated October 02, 2018 07:51 AM

Supporters argue that the felony murder rule is used disproportionately against women, young people and minorities. They said the change will merely assign blame for a death to the correct people
(Yeah, doesn’t matter that they help plan & assist in the crime! Plus they are part & parcel of the protected class!)

Two girls were killed in Central Valley towns while the suspected East Area Rapist, aka The Golden State Killer, worked nearby as a cop. Oscar Clifton died in jail after being convicted for one of the girl’s deaths. Was Clifton innocent?

Law enforcement and victim advocacy groups vigorously objected. They worried it would allow people who committed crimes that led to a death to go free without accepting responsibility.

In a statement, Skinner called the bill “a fair and reasonable fix to California’s unjust felony murder rule.”
“California’s murder statute irrationally treated people who did not commit murder the same as those who did,” Skinner said. “SB 1437 makes clear there is a distinction, reserving the harshest punishment to those who directly participate in the death.”

Life Cycle of a Fake News Story from MOTUS AD

TruthfeedFeaturePage
The estimable New York Times – “all the news that’s fit to print” – receives a tip and the seriousness of the allegation requires them to trip over their ideological enthusiasm:
date drape nikki haley
In the process they inadvertently reveal the secret of what makes “news” fit to print – it smears their enemies – and reveals the complete news cycle: evaluate stories and uncorroborated reports for ideological impact, print those that fit the narrative, evaluate the backlash, ignore it for the length of time required to circle the Internet, retract only when absolutely necessary, preferably on page 37, and repeat daily.
Oh, and don’t forget to attack Trump for complaining about all the fake news that’s fit to print.

humaa samanthaAnd would you mention to Hillary that I’m refurbishing my residence? She’ll be getting the bill…

Date drape* – it’s a serious charge.

Prof who shot himself on campus to protest Trump apologizes, now says he did it to ban AR-15s

By Sarah Taylor STAFF WRITER

Mark Bird, the professor who shot himself in the arm in a university bathroom in protest of President Donald Trump, now says that he actually did it because he wants to ban AR-15s, among other issues.

What’s the history here?

Bird, a 69-year-old emeritus sociology professor at the College of Southern Nevada, shot himself in the arm on the second day of classes at the college.
After discovering Bird bleeding outside of a bathroom campus, police said that Bird fired the self-inflicted shot to his arm in protest of Trump and his administration’s policies. He had also taped a $100 bill to the bathroom’s mirror for the janitor to apparently compensate for the bloody mess he made inside the facility.
The president of the school’s faculty union issued a statement condemning the way the university handled the incident.
“They never really told the students much about it except that it was resolved on the actual day of the shooting,” Robert Manis told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in a statement.
“When you don’t give the full details, then rumors go crazy. It’s unfortunate because it made the students and faculty very afraid and allowed rumors to proliferate.”
Police charged Bird with “discharging a gun within a prohibited structure, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property.”
Bird was sent to the Clark County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond and has also been banned from returning to the campus.
What’s happening now?
Bird has apologized for the incident, and in letters obtained by Blue Lives Matter has said that he has myriad concerns about gun control, the president, malnutrition, and pollution.
One such letter read:

I sincerely apologize for my behavior today. I was motivated by multiple reasons. A major reason is, derivative of the following October 20, 2017 CBS news story, the Earth had roughly 100 million malnutrition and pollution deaths in the past decade — and the Earth is on a course for at least another 100 million such deaths in the next decade. One hundred million deaths are more than all the military and civilian deaths of [World War II].
A less significant motivation relates to the October 1, 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting from the Mandalay Hotel that killed 58 people. Since this incident, there has been no national legislation banning bump stocks, banning civilian ownership of AR-15 type assault weapons, and the passage of universal gun background checks legislation. Apparently it is about as easy to buy an AR-15 as a 2-shot [D]erringer.
I have sent a longer essay on my motivations to Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson and others.

Bird sent the above letter to the school’s president, Federico Zaragoza, and its vice president, Margo Martin.
According to the outlet, police discovered a .22 Derringer two-shot pistol at the scene.

The US Military is No Longer a Male Rite of Passage

By Ray Starmann
Remember, the old expression, ‘the Army will make a man out of you.’ Or, the Marines great recruiting tagline, “Looking for a few good men.” How about the Navy’s action-packed 1980’s commercials with F-14’s blasting off into the wild blue yonder under the cover of smoke and exhaust fumes as a gravelly voice told a nation of young men that to join the Navy wasn’t just a job, but an adventure.

From the birth of this nation, the military was seen as a male rite of passage, something one joined, not only out of patriotism, but to prove something to oneself; perhaps, like Phil Caputo, to avoid the complete drudgery of civilian life, and to find oneself in that ultimate crucible of manhood – war.
Young males always admired the generations of men who went before them and who had served honorably and survived to ‘stand a tip-toe’ for the rest of their days.
But, since, Tailhook in Sept of 1991, in what I believe was the launching point for the PC destruction of the US military, our armed forces have been on a downward spiral into an abyss of diversity, feminism, political correctness and cowardly leadership.
And, now, literally every week there are one or two or three stories detailing just how deep in the PC abyss the military has sunk.
Today, the Army Times, aka the Diversity Times, shouted out with glee the joyous fact that Staff Sgt. Amanda Kelley, 29, is the first enlisted woman to earn a Ranger tab.
1st Armored Division spokeswoman Lt. Col. Crystal Boring, could barely keep herself from busting out of her maternity army combat uniform when she updated Old Ironside’s Twitter Page with this announcement –
HISTORIC MOMENT!
Congratulations to @USArmy Staff Sgt. Amanda F. Kelley for being the first enlisted woman to graduate Ranger School, and earn the coveted Ranger tab today at Fort Benning, Ga. She is the true definition of an #IronSoldier!

Oh rejoice! Diversity!
Who cares if we get our asses handed to us against the ChiComs? The important thing is to keep the lie going, national security be damned!
Kelley is a military intelligence electronic warfare specialist, serving in a combat aviation brigade.
One might begin to ask oneself why in the name of God this soldier was sent to Ranger School, wasting tax payer money and taking a slot that some young stud in an Infantry Battalion could have filled.
Kelley’s attendance at Camp Diversity, aka Make-Believe Land, aka Fantasy Island, aka Ranger School and her ‘graduation’, served no other purpose than to shove another female through the course so Kirsten Gillibrand can get a tingle down her leg.
Ranger School used to be one of the toughest military schools in the world. For decades, men trained hard with the hope that they could earn a Ranger tab, maybe even serve in a Ranger battalion, maybe follow in the footsteps of the Boys of Pointe du Hoc and Merrill’s Marauders.
Why even go to Ranger School now? They’re graduating mommies, the cheerleader you wanted to date in high school and the butch dyke down the block.
Not exactly a male rite of passage, anymore is it? More like an episode of Big Brother – Blanks and Boots.
And, mark my words, you heard it here first, there will be some bimbo in the coming months sporting a Green Beret and the liberal world will shout loud and high about the joys of diversity and how men and women are physically equal, when every Swingin’ Richard on Smoke and Mirrors Hill at Bragg, knows damned well that the standards have been lowered so much at the SFQC that Granny Clampett could be your next A Team light weapons sergeant.
While the PC warriors celebrate diversity, our enemies are licking their chops like Wiley Coyote at an all you can eat ACME buffet. And, this time Wiley is going to kick some butt.
Our enemies are dying with laughter every day now. They don’t even have to squeeze off a round or drop a mortar in a tube. We’re doing all the work for them as we destroy ourselves in the name of feminism and political correctness.
What red blooded American male would want to serve in a US military of drag queens, cadets in red high heels, Mommy Rangers, lactating chicks in the field and waddling battalion commanders?
There’s a known fact that the feminist crowd would like to keep buried, like those Green Cards for those Ranger tabbed ladies that Benning hides so well – any industry women take over, men leave… in droves.
The future of the US military is a largely female force (there are currently 170,000 serving in the US Army) with a smattering of gay men, men who think they’re women, liberals in skinny fatigues and aggrieved soy boys.
The future of the US military is a broken force, a devastated force, if anything is left at all on some distant battlefield.
A perfect storm is brewing in the US military now.
It’s a combination of a worthless Secretary of Defense who is probably the biggest disappointment since Evil Knievel’s failed Snake River Canyon jump, a Congress with few veterans and those who are, are mostly female, cowardly generals and admirals, liberal generals and admirals, a vocal LGBT mafia in the Beltway, candy ass Millennial recruits and the feminist lobby which believes combat power equals the number of pregnant women a division has in its TO&E.
Nope, the US military just isn’t macho anymore.
And, that’s a big, big problem.
______________________________
I beg to differ a bit on this one. As the US Army will survive. But its survival will cost a lot of Lives, Treasury & National Pride.
Because I am willing to bet on this. That a lot of “questionable” Folks, are going to be shot. That and the entrance hole on the “Brave” veteran.
Will not be a 5.56 mm one or that certain fragments of steel will be American made.
Also why does the Army not set up a Special Training School for Women only. One that takes into consideration the following. Like the Female Troopers strengths & Dimensions of soldiery?
