Remington 597 was the first one i bought myself.
Given Canadian gun laws i never ‘owned’ anything before that; I was ‘given instruction on’ and allowed to use ‘under direct supervision’ a Savage youth that was older than my dad.
When my kids got old enough i bought a Savage Rascal for them to learn on.
