Hey Grumpy, excellent breakdown of these Far Eastern rifles! The historical context on the Type 99 and Type 38 is spot on, especially regarding how regional production limitations influenced their design variations. Since you closely follow military and sports history in the region, I wanted to ask your opinion on a modern trend: how do you feel about the massive influx of Asian betting and iGaming platforms sponsoring regional shooting sports and cricket events lately? I was reading this analysis on one of those platforms at https://krikyabdguide.com and it got me thinking about how much capital from these entities is shifting into regional sports infrastructure. Do you think this kind of commercial sponsorship helps preserve interest in sports shooting and local athletics, or does it complicate the traditional sporting culture in the Far East and South Asia?

I myself have mixed feelings about this one.As money has a way of sometimes really fornicating things up. But as usual there is a But! As it could help in enlarging the shooting crowd which is way too old in my humble opinion. Seeing that I went to the range last Sunday and could not help but notice how many grey hair heads like me were there. So I find myself in favor of shooting events becoming larger.
