HK makes very high-quality weapons that are more expensive than similar weapons in their class.
Most HK handguns have a “paddle” mag release (as opposed to a button release), which takes getting used to, as you push down (toward the bottom of the grip) rather than in (toward the center of the grip).
On the DA/SA versions, the factory DA pull is long and unimpressive with a crisp SA pull. I highly recommend the “LEM” DAO triggers, especially the “light LEM, ” as that is a very smooth pull right from the factory.
The striker-fired modern HKs have a very good trigger right from the factory.
I own a few modern HK pistols, and carried the Mk23 in the military for a few years. While HKs aren’t my favorite brand, they are certainly good weapons.
