I remember back in the day. When I was a little snot & Dad let me shoot one of these at the local circus. Down in Fallbrook California during the late 60’s. (Back then I could not hit the broad side of the Pacific Ocean by the way)

Gun owners accuse L.A. of creating new ‘Yellow Badges’

Written by World Net Daily
 Published: 20 October 2018
GOA Chairman Tim Macy was commenting on the approval by the Los Angeles City Council of a measure that forces city contractors to reveal any ties to the National Rifle Association.
With little debate, the measure passed 10-0.
Councilman Mitch O’Farrell claimed the resolution was necessary because the gun lobby has been the biggest “roadblock” to passing gun control legislation.

However, Macy said it’s just political intimidation.
“How strange,” Macy said, “that the L.A. City Council is not even requiring contractors to disclose ties with terrorist groups. This just proves the anti-gun animus of the city council.”
He said the council’s move “is clearly an effort to demonize gun owners. We’ve seen this kind of official intimidation in recent history, and it’s never a pretty sight.”
The Jews were forced to wear “Yellow Badges” in Germany “in an effort to isolate and dehumanize them,” Macy noted.
“Isn’t this exactly what the L.A. City Council is trying to do?”

KCBS in Los Angeles reported the contractors still have the opportunity to do business with the city, but they now would be required “to disclose any contracts or sponsorships” with the NRA.
“For the sake of transparency, the city’s residents and stakeholders deserve to know how the city’s public funds are being spent, and whether taxpayer funds are being spent on contractors that have contractual or sponsorship ties with the NRA,” the motion stated.
It’s just the latest anti-gun move by L.A.
In August, a plan was approved to make possessing a blueprint for 3D firearms a crime, and last year the council was forced to repeal a ban on “ultracompact” handguns after gun rights advocates pointed out that state law pre-empted such a local ordinance.
In 2015, the council approved a ban on high-capacity gun magazines with more than 10 rounds.

Hundreds serving time for murder could get sprung under new California law

BY ALEXEI KOSEFF

Updated October 02, 2018 07:51 AM

California could give a second chance to hundreds of individuals serving prison time for murders they did not commit.
Gov. Jerry Brown on Sunday signed without comment Senate Bill 1437, which scales back prosecutors’ ability to use the “felony murder rule” to charge accomplices to a homicide. It also allows inmates locked up for felony murder – estimated by proponents of the bill at between 400 and 800 – to apply for re-sentencing.
Current California law states that someone can be held criminally liable for murder if it occurs during a felony they committed, such as a burglary or a robbery, even if they were not present for the actual death.
But under SB 1437, which was jointly authored by Sens. Nancy Skinner, a Berkeley Democrat, and Joel Anderson, an Alpine Republican, a person can only be convicted of felony murder if they directly assisted with the homicide or if they were “a major participant in the underlying felony and acted with reckless indifference to human life.”

Supporters argue that the felony murder rule is used disproportionately against women, young people and minorities. They said the change will merely assign blame for a death to the correct people
(Yeah, doesn’t matter that they help plan & assist in the crime! Plus they are part & parcel of the protected class!)

Two girls were killed in Central Valley towns while the suspected East Area Rapist, aka The Golden State Killer, worked nearby as a cop. Oscar Clifton died in jail after being convicted for one of the girl’s deaths. Was Clifton innocent?

Law enforcement and victim advocacy groups vigorously objected. They worried it would allow people who committed crimes that led to a death to go free without accepting responsibility.
____________________________________ (Yeah but who cares? Just remember that Murder Victims always get Capital Punishment!)
____________________________________
In a statement, Skinner called the bill “a fair and reasonable fix to California’s unjust felony murder rule.”
“California’s murder statute irrationally treated people who did not commit murder the same as those who did,” Skinner said. “SB 1437 makes clear there is a distinction, reserving the harshest punishment to those who directly participate in the death.”
