I couldn’t help but notice in the next Top Gun Maverick had a Silver Star he won in the 80’s while the desk jockey Vice Admiral’s highest award was a Bronze Star that he surely got for admin. Fiction, I know, but the services are top-heavy with O-7+ who have no distinguished combat to show after thirty years of the forever war on terror. Just compare Mark Milley and James Stockdale’s salad.
Why does the term in the rear with the gear come in mind. Also Stockdale was a REAL Stud and please do not get me going on Milley.
