A Winchester Model 70Bolt Action Rifle & Weaver K10 60B in the Obsolete caliber .225 Win. , 1965

You can really see where Winchester REALLY started cutting corners with its Post 64 Models. Like cheaper wood, rolled not hand checkering, no Mauser Claw to help rip out a stubborn cartridge . Etc Etc. Grumpy

Noe don’t get me wrong as this rifle probably shoots well. But they should of at least changed the Model Number to say a Model 71. But they didn’t. So Winchester paid the price and its reputation was shredded. That & the “pre 64” Rifles quickly became highly collectable.
