A Steyr Mannlicher Model 1895/30 Short M95 Carbine in 8mm Mauser

This Steyr Mannlicher Model 1895/30 Short Rifle started out as a full size Model 1895. It has been arsenal converted to an M95 Short Rifle. Starting in 1930 these rifles were arsenal converted to a newer, more powerful round.
The “S” on the barrel shank denotes the conversion to 8x56R. The new designation for the rifle is the Model 1895/30 Short Rifle (see pages 30 to 37 of Joe Puleo’s book, Bolt Action Military Rifles of the World). It has been reworked so the finish is nice and the markings are still deep.
