Great Britain is having a Nervous Breakdown

Scottish Man in Custody for Carrying Potato Peeler in Public Place

A man was arrested in Dunfermline, Scotland, on Saturday for carrying a potato peeler in a public place “without reasonable excuse” and faces up to four years in prison.

The Dunfermline Sheriff Court confirmed to Breitbart London that Scott Walker, 39, of the James Bank Hostel, James Street had appeared Monday, charged under the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995, for carrying “an article which had a blade or which was sharply pointed, namely a potato peeler”.
Sheriff Pino di Emidio ordered that Walker should return to the court on May 16th for sentencing over the crime, for which he could receive up to four years’ imprisonment.
The man was on bail for another unspecified offence at the time of his arrest.

Local newspaper the Dunfermline Press And West of Fife Advertiser reports Walker has been in Appin Crescent, Dunfermline, with the potato peeler at the time of his arrest. The paper quotes the defence solicitor Selina McKay who said her client “suffers from significant learning difficulties which have been lifelong”.

The unusual arrest comes amid heightened public interest over knife crime, as UK capital London experiences an unprecedented crime wave with 62 suspected murders in the capital so far in 2018 — leaving the city overtaking traditionally higher-crime New York for the first time in over 200 years.
While London is an ostensibly gun-free zone, a number of these killings have been shootings, while others have been committed with knives.
Focus has also fallen on Scotland’s court system, after comedian and YouTuber Mark Meechan, also known by his performer name Count Dankula, was handed an £800 fine after a two-year court battle surrounding a joke.
Meechan argued the Scottish court ruling did not take into account the context of the humour, in which he filmed his girlfriend’s pug dog making a Nazi salute in return for treats.

External Hammer Coach Shotgun Under $300 – Century Arms JW 2000 Review by PAUL HELINSKI

http://www.centuryarms.com/century/century-firearms/shotguns
Find a Century Shotgun on GunsAmerica
With some things in life, the hard way is actually better. That’s the way I have always felt about side by side shotguns with external hammers. Going back to the late 1980s when I was one of the first big boom of new SASS shooters (I am 19811), I always preferred to shoot hammer guns to the other options out there.
Of course I also used to shoot Colt Pattersons back when they were legal as well (these days you can’t shoot them because they only have 5 rounds).
For me, when it came to cowboy shooting, I was there to enjoy myself, and really to shoot against myself, not everyone else. And I always came in last, regardless of the class in which I was shooting.
This past year Century Arms figured out a way to get a classic externally hammered coach sized side by side into the hands of American shooters for under $300. As you can see from the video, the gun has a bunch of ugly markings on it, but it works great.
If you are reading this, it could be that you clicked on the SHOT Show video that I did with Cimarron just a few weeks ago. They have been selling a cleaned up version of this gun for some time, for a lot more money.
Now they have an even cleaner and more dainty hammer gun from Pakistan. This gun is not in the class of the fit and finish of those guns, but again, it does work. For $300, that’s really all that matters, and they are available from retailers right now.
I noted in the video that even if you aren’t into the cowboy thing, this gun would make a great trappers gun or guide gun, just to take with you in case game should appear.
You could carry it either the with the safety off and the hammers down, or hammers back with the safety on. With bird shot in one side and a slug in the other, you’d be really for anything, in a very small investment that you won’t mind if it gets dinged here and there.
For cowboy shooting, I don’t see you winning any competitions with this gun, but if you loosen it up it probably won’t be inferior to the more expensive Cimarron gun, purely from a performance standpoint.
Visually, I guess you could get a local gunsmith to buff out the printing and reblue the barrels. I don’t know why they don’t force the Chinese to print less on the gun, and in a hidden location where possible. A black sharpie will probably make the gun tolerable at least. Overall it’s a good buy, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one if you are in the market for a hammer gun.

Soldier gets permission to wear beard for Norse Pagan faith

blob:https://www.armytimes.com/7f431d89-1fea-4798-bea3-e1a67ce519a7
A soldier was recently granted permission to wear a beard in accordance with his Norse Pagan faith in a rare exception for facial hair for religious reasons.

When the Army authorized beards for religious soldiers in early 2017, the move was a response to years of requests — and a lawsuit — from Sikh soldiers seeking to both serve and adhere to the tenets of their faith.

But the directive, technically, applied to all religions.

And that includes Norse pagans, also known as heathens, according to an undated memo from the 14th Military Police Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

“I grant your accommodation, subject to the standards and limitations described below,” commander Col. Curtis Shroeder wrote to a 795th Military Police Battalion soldier, whose name is redacted from a copy of the memo circulating on Facebook.

“In observance of your Heathen; Norse Pagan faith, you may wear a beard, in accordance with Army uniform and grooming standards for soldiers with approved religious accommodations.”

Per the latest version of AR 670-1, beards with approved accommodations must be less than 2 inches long, measured from the bottom of the chin, and cannot be groomed with any petroleum-based products.

While beards are required by religious tenet for practicing Sikhs, the rules are murkier for heathens.

According to the Open Halls Project, an advocacy group for heathens serving in the military, the beard is a beloved tradition, but not a requirement.

“There is no religious requirement for beards in Heathenry,” according to a 2017 post about beards. “Sikhs are allowed to wear beards and turbans because it actually is a religious requirement of their faith that they do so. Keshor ‘uncut hair’ is one of the five religious requirements of baptized Sikhs. We, as Heathens, have no such religious requirement with regards to hair.”

A Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, spokeswoman confirmed to Army Times the memo’s authenticity.

“All proper procedures outlined in Army Directives 2017-03 and 2016-34 were followed when requesting and approving this religious accommodation,” Tiffany Wood told Army Times on Monday.

Going legit

Authorizing a heathen beard is a big step in a long road for soldiers who practice Norse paganism.

As of 2015, the Army had accepted a request to add the religion to its list of faith codes, but before final approval, the Pentagon initiated a review of all religions recognized by the Defense Department.

However, the Hammer of Thor is still authorized for placement on military cemetery headstones, per a 2013 decision.

As for beards in general, the Army has not announced a final decision on authorizing facial hair across the service.

Myself  it was Ft. Dix, N.J.(Fort Dick in the Mouth) back in the Day. I wouldn’t do it again for a Million Bucks nor would I sell my memories of it for a Million Bucks.
It was also one of the best things that happened to me! Thanks SFC Holmes, SFC Boyaye & Sgt. Howard!
