Why no Navy today has a Battle Cruiser – Destruction of the Hood from Sink the Bismarck(1960)

The actor playing the Captain of HMS Prince Of Wales is Esmond Knight, during WWII he served in the Royal Navy as a reserve officer stationed on the anti-aircraft directors on the real HMS Prince of Wales.
He took part in this action and when the shell hit the POWs bridge (shown here at 4:15) he was badly wounded in the eyes by shell splinters.
You can see in this clip the scars across his brow, he never regained use of one eye and was discharged honorably from the service, before the end of the war he had made enough recovery to return to acting and played Captain Fluellen in the 1944 version of Henry V
